The chairman of the Diepmeadow Taxi Association (DTA) Malefo Pitsi has died under mysterious circumstances on 7th January in the Krugersdorp-Mogale City. The association could not say how Pitsi and some other people died in the area but confirmed that he died in a car incident while reportedly coming from a home in North West’s Booms area.
“The report we got is that he and some people were travelling from North West when their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another car,” said a member of the executive Ray Mabaso.
There was speculation earlier on the week after the death of Mapitsi and others that the group may have been involved in a shoot-out with either police or members of the neighbourhood watch security cluster following mistaken identity of the occupants’ car.
Pitsi was laid to rest at his home village of Booms.
